Comments:
Fungus gnats of the family Keroplatidae are primarily forest dwellers, distributed worldwide from Greenland in the north to Crozet Is. In the south. They are most common in the more tropical, moist areas of the globe but can be found in a variety of ecosystems, usually in association with fungi. Eighty-six genera and 952 named taxonomically valid species are cited in this catalog. Seven new replacement names are proposed for those names that are shown to be preoccupied. New synonymies are proposed for 4 species-group names; 53 taxa are newly combined with other genera; and 4 taxa are raised to species level from varieties or subspecies. Lectotypes are proposed for 5 taxa.
